About Us

Key Lime Piano Studio is designed to develop the whole musician. Students receive one-on-one training with a highly skilled teacher who helps them learn pieces during the lesson so their ‘At Home’ practicing is just rehearsing what they’ve already learned. Students are also coached to create their own music and play ensembles with their team.

What We Do

Lessons

At Key Lime Piano we do hour long lessons with students progressing at their own pace on their own individualized material. Two highly trained teachers are constantly giving one-on-one attention to students, helping them learn pieces during the lesson so ‘at home’ practicing will be rehearsing and improving what they’ve already learned. We incorporate Key Master, our leveled technique program, as well as sight reading practice and theory into the hour lesson.

Summer Camps

Students look forward to our three-day summer camps all year long. At these camps students learn music theory, ear training, composition and other musical skills all while having fun. Favorite themes include: Piano Olympics, Amazing Race: Piano, Bucket Drumming, and Frogwarts School of Musicianship and Harmony.

Recitals

Performing is a vital part of becoming a musician. We hold a “Performer’s Choice” recital in the fall and a themed recital in the spring. Every student is encouraged to perform one or two solos.

Team Performances

Good musicians are comfortable making music with others. At Key Lime Piano students learn how to play with their team and perform together at our “Finale”End of the Year Performance.

Studio Awards

At Key Lime Piano students have the opportunity to earn all kinds of Studio Awards throughout the year. From “Around the World,” “Time Traveler” and “Sightreading Star” to “Jazz King,” “Disney Darling” and “Composer Collector” there is something for everyone.

Community

Learning to play the piano is often an isolating experience but at Key Lime Piano students are always part of a team. Peer motivation is especially effective when learning an instrument. Our lesson format allows students to practice duets, perform for each other, learn theory together and even play theory games together.

AIM

“Achievement In Music” is the leveled evaluation program for music students offered through Utah Music Teachers Association. Students are evaluated in six different areas including technique, theory and performance. At Key Lime Piano we help prepare interested students for AIM evaluations. This is an optional program but highly recommended.

Creativity

We encourage our students to create their own music by teaching them the core components of music and giving them tools to use. This creative outlet is highly effective in becoming a better musician.

Lab Time

Learning to sight read music is so much more fun when it’s gamified. At Key Lime Piano we take advantage of powerful iPad apps to help our budding note readers learn note names, rhythm and sight reading. Teachers customize apps and Lab Time to compliment their one on one time with the student.

Meet the Teachers

Cami Kapp

Owner & Teacher

Cami has always had a love for music and has been involved with music and teaching children her whole life. In High School, she was chosen to play a piano concerto with the Southwest Washington Symphony, a highlight of her teenage years. She earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Minor in Music from BYU. Her training in education and her experience in the classroom enrich her skills as a piano teacher.

When her first baby was born, Cami left the classroom and started teaching piano privately. She has enjoyed connecting with each student and helping them develop as musicians. Cami loves to be musically involved in her community, by accompanying choirs and amateur singing groups, playing for weddings and receptions, and playing weekly at a local hospital. She also enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, skiing, attending concerts and plays and learning as much as she can.

Carmen Rogers

Teacher

Carmen grew up in Utah Valley and began music lessons at age 5. She earned her Bachelors in Piano Performance from Utah Valley University where she graduated in 2020. She has over ten years of teaching experience and loves working with all types of students and finding ways to customize the lesson for each one.

In addition to classical repertoire, she loves playing by ear, improvising, jazz music and she plays the violin. Some of her favorite composers are Gershwin, Bach and Prokofiev. When she’s not playing piano, she loves to cook and bake, learn to DJ, workout at the gym and hang out with her cat Missy.
